The superb 1996 Colheita Malmsey has a lifted bouquet with notes of honeycomb, quince, mahogany bureau and mandarin that is well-defined. The palate is very well-balanced, with a caressing, lilting entry that gentle tickles the senses, before opening up with lovely honeyed fruit laced with creme brulee, orange zest and Asian spices. The finish is long and languorous. This is a lovely Malmsey. ROBERT PARKER. THE WINE ADVOCATE. 92/100
