DOG POINT PINOT NOIR 2015
Aged in 40% new French oak, Dog Point's 2015 Pinot Noir is a pristine model of contained power. The cedary notes frame cola and black cherry fruit and channel it down the center of the fairway, a textbook drive designed to set up the second shot. That is to say, better things lay ahead for this medium-bodied wine, once it begins to evolve, loosen the shackles and spread out across the palate a bit. Give it a couple of years, then enjoy its silky-textured charms over the next 5-8 years. ROBERT PARKER. THE WINE ADVOCATE. 92/100.
