It's produced with grapes from centenary vines from Las Compuertas planted at some 1,000 meters altitude. In this 2014, the vineyard used is different from the one that provided the grapes for previous years. It's higher in altitude and the massale selection has very diverse plants. It fermented in 1,000-liter French oak vats with indigenous yeasts and half of the wine was kept there while the rest was put in barrels to mature. This keeps a more toasty and ripe profile, with some lactic notes, distinctively toastier than the other wines. The wine has power and slightly chunky tannins, a dry finish and a more mainstream profile.
